CKS MEMORIAL
This huge complex is over 250,000 sq meters 
in size and includes the Chaing Kai-shek Memorial Hall, National Theatre and National Concert Hall, as well as some incredibly landscaped gardens and Plazas. The CKS Memorial Park is only a short walk from the Taipei Hostel and well worth visiting. The memorial itself is massive and houses a museum that chronicles the life and career of the one-time dictator. The memorial and the massive gate on its western edge are two of the most well known images of Taiwan. 
The park and surrounding gardens are well maintained and quite stunning. Children especially enjoy the teeming fish ponds as they can purchase fish food from the vending machines and to feed the seemingly always hungry fish. The National Theatre is where Chinese Operas are performed and the National Concert Hall is the place to go classical music.
