Shopping and eating are two of the biggest attractions in Taipei. There are so many options for both that it is difficult to decide what should be listed and what shouldn't. Shopping can be broken down into three categories: Department Stores, Nightmarkets and everything else.

SOGO Department Store

SOGO Department Store is the most famous department store in Taiwan SOGO Department Store

SOGOs is the Department Store in Taipei. Located next to the Fu Shing MRT Station, (there is a second store on Dun Wa South Road) Sogos offers excellent service and selection. The prices tend to be on the high side, but that doesn't seem to deter the throngs of determined shoppers. SOGOs installed a number of benches around the front of the store and it has become a popular place to sit around and watch the busy residents of Taipei pass by.

The Breeze Shopping Mall

Just north of SOGOs on Fu Shing North Road, The Breeze Center is a large luxurious mall that features multitudes of designer store selling the latest Western fashion. It also has a movie theater for those in need of a break from shopping.
